Power supply Rigol 1052E

(1/1)

GGMM:
Hello,

Can someone inform me of the usefulness of the presence of a 50Htz or 60 Htz signal depending on the region, on the motherboard of the 1052E.
see schématic of the power supply.

Do you have the schematic about that on the motherboard?

Is this some sort of watchdog from a voltage drop? Is there a link to a permanent reset command of the processor?  (As if pressing permanent the reset button of a tower???)

I ask you the question, because I still made many tests by pressing each time on a different button and necessarily I have each time a different menu. So it seems to go through the various loops of the program before it freezes.

Thank you for your answers

It's used for the AC/Line trigger mode.
When in AC/Line trigger mode you can display AC mains waveforms and it locks to the frequency.

What else it might be used for as well i dunno.

Line trigger. That's it.

Things based on mains frequency, such as 100 or 120 Hz ripple. Maybe mains hum pickup.

It's a feature added to almost all scopes, but not something I've found particularly useful. I suppose it's easy and cheap to add, and it's expected.
