Problems with Multimeter Vichy VC97
« on: October 19, 2019, 03:21:15 pm »
When I was testing the multimeter for resistance and continuity, I notice that most of the time the multimeter does not read the value of the resistance. Also for continuity, it does not beep. Occasionally it does work, but not most of the time. When not working I get ".0L" reading. I don't understand why? I reset the meter a few times, but also the same problem.

Did anyone had any similar problems?

No

They have fairly good quality

But considering overall cost of similar product class ...

- Check the probes - several times they are bad.
they are mostly got from other supplier in chain

- Open the DMM and check the solders of the probes on pcb
several times they are bad either. Usually they are hand made
on a not very good production line

-  Perform overall visual inspection - cold or bad joints do happen a lot

All very easy to fix.. and very common.
Mostly you will need another DMM as well

Last  but not least the ROTARY POSITIONAL KEY..
very frequently they have some issues.. more or less fixable.
