PROBLEMS WITH RIGOL DS1202Z-E AFTER UPDATE IT DOES NOT TURN ON
Hr_Satch:
Hi, for what it is still worth:
sometimes, and I mean really sometimes <back in the good 'ol days,...>
When this thing has a RAM-batt, you like an ordinary desktop PC,
take it out, and let is reset overnight, . . .
Next day, start it first up without the RAM-batt,
and only after full re-booting, than reaplce a fresh new RAM-battcell, . . .
But hey: do this only if aware of what means static-discharge hazards,
or you' make things even worse ;-?
Goodluck

There are many replies about "bricked" DSO. A search came up, among others, with this:

hello,
I think you should take inspiration from this thread of discussion noted.
The Actel A3P030 must contain the flash and seem to have a port JTAG
Pins: 47 TCK, 48 TDI, 49 TMS, 54 TDO. see also for the ground and Vjtag.
Probably one of the connectors will allow the connenions. You have to find the connections with a multimeter.
Use as in the chat thread the Jtag software, a Jtag adapter parrallele (Segger)
Nb: you have to configure Jtag. (i don't know how)
Make a backup of the full flash.
Use a hexadecimal editor to view the content of the flash (serial number etc)
After it takes a recover a flash that works and reprogram
Work remainder, serial number, calibration, etc
