Basically this :D

Some parts don’t record well, and if adjusted to look better recorded, then not so much in real life.
It occurs to me now they weren’t doing real plasma originally, but moving a bitmap behind masking for the digits.
Anyways, a colour Tetris will be easy from here.

then your a fool, because now you have nothing to analyse.
good luck without the controller.

Interestingly, I have found myself revisiting this years later because I want to port the Tetris I did for this display, to Atari Lynx.

Funny stj, you were eager to post, and call me a fool and put me down, and telling me what I can't do while I was working on it,
but then you went quiet once I was successful.

Back then I didn't have the fortitude to simply tell you to keep it all to yourself asshole :)

i was off the forum, not avoiding your post.
i still say you should have kept the original controller that was obviously doing constant refresh & other usefull functions.

so who's the asshole?
The person who's every comment is negative.
The person who can't accept that his way isn't the only way, and belittles others for doing something another way.
A cheaper, faster way that supports more colours, and running arbitrary code, and only sacrifices RAM.
That's who's the asshole :)
