PS2 Replacement Ribbon Cable
« on: February 04, 2023, 03:49:07 pm »
I have a Fat PS2 30001 and the ribbon cable for the power button is broken  >:(

I am trying to find a replacement, and I think I have found a suitable one on Digi-Key. However I have never ordered a ribbon cable before, so I am looking for some advice.

Digi-Key Product #: 0151670763-ND

There are 7 and the width of the cable is 8mm. Thus the pitch is 1.
Length of the exposed ends is 4mm. However the backers are of different length on the OEM cable. Please see the attached picture.
The original cable is about 9" long, but I went with a 10" cable for ease of installation.

Would this cable work?

Mechanicals are not a problem, you can always add some missing stuff.

Only problems are power and stiffness.
If it's only a button operation then power is irrelevant.
If there are no too sharp corners then stiffness is also pretty irrelevant.

Are different cable colors a camera effect?
If not then what they possible are?
