What kind of socket is this?
Where can I buy this ?

Those pics only show the back of the connector. What does it connect to what?

Not yet, but I suspect they will want me to send it to them for repair.
In my case, shipping costs will be around $400 both ways.

It's a FPC connector. As you can see it has 6 position then 10 blank and then 14 position. So a 30 position with 10 positions omitted. Probably proprietary. If the socket needs replacing then see what the pin pitch is. You might be able to replace with a 30 pin FPC and ground the 10 positions not used.

I only see 3 empty positions between the 6 and 14 wired. That makes it 23, which seems a weird number but is absolutely available. If you search for "fpc connector 23pin" you'll find plenty.

When buying the connector, ensure you select the correct contact position, top or bottom.
