Q455 J2M Transistor?
« on: March 17, 2024, 09:11:28 pm »
Can anyone tell me where to find a Q455 J2M transistor or how to look up a replacement for it?

Thank you,

If this helps, here is the (terrible) schematic of where it goes.

TR1 is a TRIAC. The logo belongs to Teccor.

This old databook might provide some clues. For example, "4" appears to be associated with a 400V device.

Since F1 is a 1A fuse, I'm guessing that would reflect the current rating of the TRIAC.

Possible choices ...

It's used in a basic phase-control (light dimmer) circuit for the soldering iron temperature adjust.
I also think it's a 1A sensitive gate TO-92 Teccor triac. "Q4___" is 400V
Consider BT131-600. Z0107 is popular in appliances but not sensitive gate.
B&K 181-007-9-001 "Triac 0.8A"
If I was in there maybe upsize to a 4A TO-220 part, but they have a different pinout, not MT1-G-MT2.

The meter bridge rectifier diodes D2,3,6,9 are B&K 150-008-9-001 "Germanium diode 1N67" and known to fail.
The other rectifier diodes D4,5,7,8 are B&K 150-008-9-001 "1A, 600V Silicon diode" like 1N4005.

Attached is B&K 1655 schematic I found that is a bit better.

Not sure where y'all found the parts list but that is perfect.  Thank you again!
