QC35 headphones power switch replacement
« on: November 16, 2020, 04:18:35 pm »
I have a pair of Bose QC35 headphones, for which the power switch has broken off. I was thinking of buying a broken pair of headphones to use as a donor to replace the switch, since that is the only thing wrong.

I've looked around for this kind of switch (note that the plastic switch bit is chipped off), but can't seem to find one anywhere. Is this a common kind of 3-mode, spring loaded switch or some proprietary bose stuff? I'd like to buy the switch instead of donor headphones.

The switch has two fixed positions for on and off, and a spring loaded third position for bluetooth settings.

Thanks in advance!

Looks like https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32759056779.html
Also https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/113317098300
However, these slide switches do not have the sprung loaded momentary position for bluetooth.

Thanks!

The switches do seem similar, and I guess a spring loaded switch is not strictly necessary.

With a bit of luck, it may be possible to transfer the spring from the original switch into the replacement???
