I have a QNAP TVS-472XT nas which recently failed. According to reports on Internet, reddit, etc there is a problem similar to the C2000 bug but in this case is the chipset chip, a Intel B360 PCH (Platform controller Hub).
Many TVS-x72XT failed after 2-3 years.
There is a video on youtube from someone who claims repaired hundreds of TVS-x72XT nasses with this defect by replacing the B360 PCH.
I looked on the usual places but I cannot find anywhere to buy this chip. I have the expertise and equipment to solder it but only of is a new or reballed chip, I do not have the stencils or the expertise to do reballing myself otherwise I would buy the cheapest PC motherboard with B360 chipset and transplant it to the Qnap.
A strange thing is that I saw no reports from anywhere else that B360 have a problem causing MOBO failure so I'm wondering if is indeed a chip bug or is related to specific implementation of TVS-x72 causing the chip to fail prematurelly.
