Raspberry PI4 repair
« on: December 15, 2024, 09:07:57 pm »
Hi,
This is my first attempt at repairing a pcb with surface components, and I thought that 3 defective pi4s I had lying around were a good start.

After buying a cheap infrared heater and hot air station, and many youtube videos, I got started.

Took a chance to buy some ic chips from aliexp and orginal DA9090 from pihut.
Have now repaired 2 of the pi's, since only the power manager da9090 was defective.

The last one was not completely healthy after 12V input :) but after soldering in a new DA9090 it booted up, but USB, eth and wifi/bluetooth were missing.

Replaced the VL805-Q6 usb controller and BCM54213P eth controller, and now have both usb and wired network.

Then there was wifi/bluetooth, which was a disaster, since the wifi ic dropped from the wacum tweezers and made a mess of some of the components left of this chip.

I have searched everywhere for component locations, but have not been able to find any info, or pictures since they are located under the metal cover..

Does anyone have a diagram or photo of this part on the pi4 pcb?
