RCA Application Notes
« on: November 02, 2019, 01:57:51 am »
Hi All,

I've got a few 1960's app notes and datasheets in my collection. I'm planning to digitise them and upload them here for others to use. It's going to be a slow process, none of them are on loose leaf and I don't really want to destroy the paper copies to make scanning easier. So I'll just scan and upload every now and then and add them to this first post.

I searched a few and couldn't find PDFs already online. If anyones looking for information on a specific RCA component, let me know and I'll see if I can find it.  ;)

Dropbox seems like transitory storage. Wouldn't it be better to upload them to datasheetarchive or similar repositories?

Thanks for your effort in preserving electronics history.

What you have uploaded is fascinating. Look for instance at the "Plastic TO-3" package.

Do you have an idea of the date this was printed? It looks like 60s circuit design.

archive.org would be a much better place to put them; in fact, there are already quite a few early databooks there.

Good idea, I'll have a look around, there's a few archive sites which might be good. Might upload to a few places.

I think this one is from 1967, based on the 6/67 at the bottom of page 2, but I'm not 100% sure. I think most of the other RCA stuff I have is from 60s to early 70s.

Ok, good call, using archive.org was easier than I expected. I've now uploaded it there and changed the download link.  ;)

Thanks again!

Browsing thru some of the books you uploaded, brought back fond memories...when I repaired audio equipment as a supplementary income.

In particular, the finned TO66 transistor was an unique RCA package, and those were very popular in power audio amps.

re: AN-45 - I got hit with a wave of nostalgia when I got to the last page.  Practically speaking, if the child doesn't leak or fall off, it should be a warm place where you can keep an eye on them.

I've scanned and added four more: 436, 347, 349 and 350. Links in top post.

I can't believe the last ones I scanned were in March. I'm planning to scan some more this week, but I won't bump the thread each time.  ;)

Leaving nothing to chance, you can see that someone crouched behind the 556 is holding on to Michael with two hands.
