The batteries of this vacuum are dead. I hard wired the plug so I can run it on 12vdc wall-wart and it works fine enough. It seems maybe a bit fast, but I don't know because I only ever heard it running off the dying batteries (was not able to plug in and run while charging). I am wondering though, should I put a capacitor and resistor into the circuit? Right now, it is just the dc motor. There are no markings on the motor and I cannot find any datasheet from Black & Decker. If I should do this, how would I calculate this? Or maybe some standard, generic practice?
Thanks.
Unless the motor overheats I would say it is fine.
One could check the old battery and get the voltage from there. With a different technology one may not be able to get exactly the same voltage though, but at least close.
