Registered here after seeing there being a few other posts being made about these drives and problems people have had with them, so I am hoping I can get some help with my drive.

I have an OCZ Vertex 460 (250GB) that I've ran Windows 10 on for some time. It's only until recently that I found out that the random disconnecting is not just something that happened to me on several occasions. This is because the drive finally decided that it had enough and just not start at all. I have since replaced the drive, but now I'm faced with a huge issue: the OCZ one has some rather important things on it (not as in personal pictures or info on it, but stuff that I would need to spend a lot of time remaking if I were to not be able to get the made files off of the OCZ drive).

The drive I bought came with a cable that I could use to plug my old SSD drive into a USB port (has the SATA connectors on one end, and a standard USB plug-in on the other). I'm trying to get the drive to be recognized in this way, but the drive is now refusing to connect to anything (even another computer). I don't know if it's the same problem of it being a dead or near dead drive or the way I'm trying to connect it to my computer right now. I just want what is on this drive, assuming the drive didn't get wiped, to be recovered so I can get it onto the new drive.

I'm not sure if I'm any help but I keep a dead OCZ vertex 2 60GB which let me down in the worst possible way on the monitor stand to remind me never to buy a OCZ drive ever again.
