Portable Dvd Player

thanks for taking the time to look at my post

so here the problem i am having it was about 6 months ago that i bought a brand new portable dvd player on clearance as i could not pass it up for only $29 as these thing still seem to sell at most places i go to for $70+. i just got around to using it today and having a strange problem when i playback a dvd there is no sound yet if i play a movie from a usb flash drive use the av in the sound works fine

this is a strange problem anybody know if there is a fix as the shop i bought it from only lets you return items within 14days

Hi,
is it possible, that the DVD have Dolby Digital 5.1 and the Player want to 'throw' the sound to a optical/coaxial output?
Check handbook and settings on which output the player want to play the sound.

Not all players automatically remix the sound for stereo/dolby surround output. sometimes you have to choose the sound in the dvd menu (stereo/dolbysurround 2.1)
and sometimes you have to 'motivate' the player to do it.

Post model of the device, maybe someone can help with setup.
