reload firmware on siglent SDG810 func gen
teletypeguy:
Hi folks:
Does anyone know how I can re-load firmware into a siglent SDG810 func gen? It served me well for years and then just hung at the boot screen. Siglent sent me files/instructions for reloading from usb, but that does not work. A note in the instructions indicates that a min level of existing firmware needed to be present and I presume mine is earlier than that.
I opened it up, looking for a programming port (I have various jtags pods...) but saw no obvious connector or pad arrangement. There is an sd card socket on the board however, so I am optimistic that code can be loaded via a card, however I get no response from siglent on that possibility.
I have a siglent spectrum analyzer which is actually pretty nice, and a 350MHz scope which is ok, but I recently got an SPD3303C power supply which had an out-of-box dead channel (they replaced it), and now this generator fail, so I am kinda burned out on siglent. I have moved to a keysight scope and got a rigol func gen, both of which I love.
But I'd hate to toss the old SDG810 and would like to re-flash it and give it to my son. Anybody have any pointers?
thx, gil

While I may be part of this community too Siglent trust me with a very special SW toolset that is not for public use.
If you need help we can sort out any problems in private.
