I have a Fluke 189 with a cracked LCD. The LCD still functions over a portion, but the top right corner where the damage occured does not display (see photo). I assume this is irreparable and must be replaced but maybe I'm wrong? If so, I appreciate advice from whatever wizard knows how to do something like that.
Odds are though I will need to replace the screen. I have searched unsuccessfully for a replacement part. The Fluke manual doesn't give me a part #, but I saw a similar post on this forum with 688181 listed as the part #, so I believe that is it. I could use help finding it, if anyone has advice, or if anyone is selling it looks like I'm buying. Also, I have little experience with LCDs, is there any cross compatibility among LCDs ie can I possibly find a screen made for something else but with similar specs and use it?
Thank you, hope someone out there can help.
PS I tried calling Fluke to get the part, but they haven't been any help as the part is obsolete. I'm pretty sure that the part # is correct then, but the 2 guys on the phone seemed to know even less than I do on the topic.
