Repair - help identify IC component 711 ?734 207M
« on: December 29, 2022, 05:53:13 pm »
This is ROLLER GRILL PIS30 induction plate. It died when "normal (non-inductive) pot was placed on top of it". Photos show the blown part, but my search-fu failed to provide any results about what it might be.
I can see the following:

711
?734
207M

The middle part is probably 1734. Any help appreciated.

What are the date codes on the other ICs? That would help to identify the date code on your unknown chip.

U10 has "CHN 7 32". That suggests China, week 32 of 2017.

https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/stm32f301r6.pdf (page 129)

This would be consistent with "1734", ie week 34 of 2017. That said, "711" could be week 11 of 2017 ...

Good Morning delmadord,   I have a similar induction hob, but a different brand.   I have inadvertently placed non-steel pots on it and nothing was harmed, there was just no heating.   Are you certain that is what caused your malfunction? :-//

Thank you, this is the part.

Good morning BILLPOD,
unfortunately no, I am not sure. It is just the story that was given to me, and I am also not sure sure if this could really be the cause, as this induction appliance is not the cheapest one around. Surely it should have some basic checks to prevent simple mistakes.

I will try to replace the QFN component now that we know what it is and not sure what will happen next.

Is the transistor also dead? Might want to check before plugging it back in (should probably connect a lightbulb in series for safety).
