Repair of Danby DDR251DE dehumidifier - control panel hung
« on: August 25, 2021, 01:01:17 am »
My basement dehumidifier shows the humidity but wont control the dehumidifier. The sensor appers to be working but all of the control buttons are non-functional. And I cant find a service manual anywhere. Does anybody here have any experience with dehumidifiers?

i guess tomorrow I'll just crack it open and take a look at the caps. Its getting to be about that age and its spent a lot of time running. Has anybody else encountered this problem? The motor seemed to be healthy nd a few weeks ago it was working fine, sucking around one or two llters of water out of the air each day.

Basically it turns on the panel lights up showing the humidity, say "70" But pressing any of the buttons is failing to do anything at all and it'd panel is frozen as far as functioning. So it never starts to cool. Nor can the RH setting be set.

I am wondering if it might be a capacitor, that seems quite possible.
