newbies: need help reparing a sub psw 1000 kef
« on: February 28, 2019, 08:48:02 am »
hi,

I am repairing a sub here's the service manual https://www.manualslib.com/manual/788003/Kef-Psw-1000.html?page=2#manual

I found the problem within the relais for the pop of the speaker. When powered on the relais start to do a huge sound similar to a 220 attached yo a speaker, I dismounted the relais and it works, pinging with oscilloscope on reofore of the coil of the relais give a 15V but with a small regular peak, I was expecting a Cc about 24V over there, isn't it? Checked  +15 and -15 outside the 2 regulators and are ok. Chechek the bridge rectifier after the transformer and I got a cc of 70V and a imput of about 50V ca.

Any hint?

hi,

I did a step: removed the relay, bypass the relay with a cable and the subwoofer works. What can I do? Change relay or change some components around?? thanks Marco
