Need help finding a buck converter
« on: April 26, 2018, 03:45:17 pm »
I have a lot a devices that fail with voltage spikes. Each time the same component burns and I would like to fix them. The real problem is finding the name of the component, as I only know that the package is probably a sot457 , has written the numbers 209 and it's in a buck converter configuration.

The voltage input it's rated at 9v, 0.6A. The output voltage could be 5v or 3.3v. I tried finding the component in digikey and Mouser but had no luck finding the same pin out.

If anyone know a better way to find smd components or know a buck converter with the same pin out even if the package it's a little bit bigger or smaller I would be very happy.

I'd guess it's a TPS562209.

Wow I'm impressed. Just by curiosity how did you find this component so fast? It's so sad that they are out stock, I guess my search continues, thanks any way now that I have a reference it will be much easier.

Check the portfolio of Linear Technology (now Analog Devices) for Chips with the same pinout.

You should also get a outlet-strip with spike-protection to prevent that kind of damage in the future (if the spikes come from the mains) :)

Hahaha. That was my first try, but I din't put "code" the results are totally different .

Thanks I will take a look on it. These devices are for customers, who were told to put spike-protection but they din't, like always.
