Hello,

I have recently bought 4 old, not (exactly) working, RF signal generators, now trying to see what can be fixed.

The 2030 and 2040 were displaying "Cannot set-up link between processors"
The 2031 display was broken, nothing being showed up
The 2052 was displaying "Calibration date expired" and "Incorrect software fitted"

All units have some sort of add on boards, options, that I believe can be fitted from one device to the other.

Sadly, the display on 2052 arrived with the bottom half of LCD not displaying anything good.

I took the display from the 2030 and replaxced the one from 2031, the unit starts up displaying an error about real time clock. Then it works just fine, not displaying any other errors. I have not checked output level, modulation, etc, just doing simple power on tests.

After taking the cables out of the 2040 and put them back in, the cannot setup link error has just dissapeared and the device boots up without showing any error. However, if left running for some minutes it starts to throw some errors that I shall post later on.

I then took the LCD from 2040 and replaced the one in 2052. It starts up displaying the same incorrect software fitted and calibration expired but it then goes on and seems to work. Again, have not checked output levels or anyting appart from powering up and some menu inputs.

Another issues with 2052, it came without the RF output module which seems to be an relay based attenuator ending up with a RF plug. However, the 2030 have one so I just took it out and looking to retrofit the 2052. But when trying to module in, there is something not connected on the 2052 metallic box, one connector was atatched as seen in picture and then it is another one unconnected.

Perhaps someone own such unit or/and know what could possible be connected there or/and best the service manual for the 2052?

Thanks.
