[SOLVED]Revox B261-LCD segment fault finding.
« on: October 14, 2021, 02:52:26 pm »
Hi,
The lower segments of the second digit (the first zero in 100 from the left) do not appear. I have attached the schematic below. I'm trying to identify which pins to apply voltage to (using my multimeter on the resistance range) in order to turn on these segments. The numbering on the pins is a bit confusing, as each pin appears to relate to more than one segment. Is there a recommended way of testing segments on this LCD without powering up the whole circuit, as I have removed the PCB from the tuner temporarily. I have watched Dave's LCD video's, and he mentions that applying a DC voltage is not the best thing to do. Any advice welcome. Thanks.* Revox_B261_LCD.pdf (635.36 kB - downloaded 49 times.)

Between Com I or Com II and the segments you want to test.

It is very common with Revox gear that the LCD has bad connections between the glass and the contact strips that hold it.  A little squeeze and wiggle will usually show this.  Did you try this before delving into electrical troubleshooting?  Always try that first.

I've moved the contacts on the edge of the glass and now the segments are working again. Thanks.
