repeated heating of components
« on: November 01, 2015, 02:12:01 pm »
I Am trying to repair a graphing multimeter.

I located the problem down to the ASIC and CPU components not soldering to the board properly I keep having to solder them when I leave them to cool the fault returns and the board will not power up and the crystal oscillator will not run sometime intermittently when the voltage is being pulled down to 1.2V from 3V.

Has anyone come across a problem where as as soon as the board cools down the components loose contact with the trace.

And will repeated heating using a hot air station damage the components the maximum temperature I am using is 300 degree C.

I have had the board running but when the board cools down back to square one.

Can anyone help with this problem?

Thanks
