A 5-wire capacitor in our oldie-but-goldie mixer released the magic smoke. I'm looking for a replacement, but I'm not familiar with this kind of capacitors and I haven't been able to decipher the markings very well.
Which kind of capacitor is this?
What I could read in the markings (see the attached image) is
MIFLEX
KSPpz-10
0.1uF± X2
+2×2.5nF-40%Y
250V ~ 6.3A
40/085/21 -40/+85°C
The measures are ø15×42mm.
Is this version of the KSPpz-10
https://allegro.pl/oferta/kondensator-miflex-ksppz-10-0-1uf-5-koncowek-7919074645 a good replacement?
Are there other good enough replacements that are easier to get by?
Hi, You can use mixer without this capacitor.
This is capacitor is for filtering EMI.
It is like 3 capacitors in one package.
You could use two Y and one X cap instead.
It's just an EMC capacitor, these loose capacity over time anyway, and sometimes fail like yours. The mixer will work fine without that component, so just save yourself the hassle of finding a replacement. You'll have to connect the AC line wires from one side to the other, as they go straight through, cut off the 5th wire (I'd expect this one connected so some metallic components inside the mixer).
