Dr. Meter HY3005F-3 Power Supply Display Issue..
« on: February 02, 2020, 04:21:51 am »
I just got a HY3005F-3 off ebay.. in the other day!!

Looks like it was damaged in shipping. (I have my doubts but what the seller claims) It had a smell of magic smoke upon opening the box!! The seller refunded no return label and said he would take it up with ups.. So I will assume the seller was telling the truth..

Anyways, Now it looks like I get a tear-down and a project!

One Channel displays max 14V but the output is 31V LOL...

Found it the mastech schematic on another thread it is part for part so far on the display part for the voltage section.. less C43 https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/mastech-hy3005f-3-seriesparallel-switches-imply-non-floating-supply/msg492343/#msg492343

Here is a You Tube Video.. of its Issue..

https://youtu.be/TORUWRbDTbc

Here is the part not on the schematic that let the magic smoke out. After Cleaning Labled C43 could be seen clearly.. This PSU has been messed with rubycons installed.

Quick Reference Display Schematic.

After Probing Around Found an interment short on C7 Removed C7 low and behold the display go all the way up?

So Looking at the HEF4069UBT may be faulted cap tests good? Cap tested Good Installed another know cap same issue.. Checked D1 & D2 Also Good.
