| Replacing nichicon Dual-C 10.000uF cap |

Hi there, I am restoring a Sony TA-2650 amp and came across a bad Nichicon Dual-C 10.000uF dual capacitor. See the attached picture. I have searched the interweb for this but didn't find anything yet. Maybe I could replace this cap with 2 separate 10.000uF caps? Does anyone have any advice on how to do this? Thanks in advanced. you could with "wearing gloves and visage protection" open the capacitor and put 2 separate capacitors in it ? for the look ?? or try to build a round pcb as a base and solder 2 caps on it, mimicking the pinout ? |

Did you perform this procedure yourself? I find it a little rich for my taste ;D. But i will consider it and think about it. |

Find the gnd on the board and then put 2 caps |

yep i did it but it was aluminum casing capacitors, you could cut it near the botom edge ... but not necessarly applicable to a modern version ??? But try to find axial capacitors and hot glue them together and do the proper connections ?? |
