Rigol DG1022U repair help
« on: November 25, 2024, 11:42:10 am »
Rigol DG1022U does not turn on. After checking, it was found that the power board U1 was damaged, with silk screen 00E0 (or 004W). Since it does not affect the circuit operation, after dismantling, the power output is normal, but the screen is not bright. The mainboard works normally. Using an oscilloscope to detect, CH1 and CH2 both have waveform output, but the square wave waveform of CH1 has ripples. Inspection found that the screen boost IC (silk screen JDVEC) is damaged. It only affects the LED+ and LED- voltages that do not meet the requirements, but if the display circuit is normal, the screen should also display. Suffering from the lack of a circuit diagram, there is no progress at present. Please give me some advice, and if you know the parameters of the two ICs, please let me know. Thank you very much!

This is U1 on a good power supply board, different silkscreen, but should be the same model IC.

The chip with JDVCE printed on it is printed as JDVAK on some DG1022 motherboards. Please help me. Thanks in advance!

I drew the circuit diagram of the boost part, and I hope experts can analyze the chip model.
U1 is a digital potentiometer that controls the voltage boost of U2, that is, adjusts the brightness of the display.

I just borrowed a good 1022 from a friend. The waveforms output from pins 5 and 7 of U2 are as follows:(The U2 silkscreen here is JDVAK)

I have hand-drawn the schematic diagram of the power board and uploaded it for reference by those who need it. If there are any errors, please inform me in time. Once again, I would like to ask friends who know the models of these two chips to help me. Thank you very much!

Thank you very much^-^
But the functions and pin arrangements are different. The boost IC on the DG1022 has two PWM outputs, which are boosted by capacitors and diodes.

It seems my DG1022 is dead and cannot be repaired.

It’s unexpected that I can’t search for the specific model of these two small chips. How sad!!!

I have a simple brain and try to structure all this information so I understand what is going on as there are several symptoms here.

schematic diagram of the power board
Nice job, I'm certain this will help someone sooner or later.
Herewith some findings:
The chip on the left in the primary section is also marked as U1, you might want to rename it. If you know what it is please add to the schematic.
You might want to rename Transistors T2 and T3 into Q1 and 2
You might want to rename U7 to T1.
not very important as of now: Any information about the coils (L3; L8 ->12)? Size, number of windings, markings, anything)

Your Issues:
Issue A/
U1; known as 00E0 and as 004W; 6 pins
After removal the power supply works again. So I suspect it somehow pulls on the +5V in your schematic.
I think it does influence the power supply via pin3 and U2. Or LED and T of U2 are reversed in the schematic and it receives a 'power good' info.
What are the connectors J3 and J8 connected to?

Issue B/
Screen not bright. Screen boost IC damaged. known JDVEC and as JDVAK; 8 pins
It might be AAT3190 from another post about the Rigol DM3051: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/repair/rigol-dm3051-burned-ic-please-hd74lv2g08aushelp-to-identify/
See attached datasheet.

I drew the circuit diagram of the boost part
Yes, it makes sense to me, I mean the AAT3190 in this part of the schematic.

Else these 2 companies on Alibaba reference JDVEC, you might want to contact them:

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Consult-and-negotiate-supply-Chip-and_1601263155383.html

Issue C/
Square waveform has ripples on CH1 output.
Let's first focus on the above 2 issues.

When it fits stop using the hammer
