Sencore LC-103 Issue
« on: August 15, 2023, 07:00:46 pm »
Hey Guys,
My LC103 has developed a problem as of late and wanted to pass the symptoms around to see if anybody else has experienced this before:

The meter basically works great on every mode but leakage test.
The meter lead zero functions correctly, the cap value function works correctly, Inductor test works correctly,
ESR acted a little funny as it sometimes would give a negative value, but the leakage function is amiss.
Below 50 Volts the leakage function works fine best I can tell, above fifty volts the progress bar only moves about 1/4 the way over and fluctuates some.
It's been doing this for a while.
measured voltage on the red and black wires between the two pc boards and it shows about 50 volts when checking for leakage at 100 volts.
Curius that everything seems to be in threes on what I guess is the voltage generator board.
Thanks for your thoughts on this.

There are 0.2, 2, 20mA range selects for leakage, as well as the leakage DC-DC voltage 32-1,000V. I would see if the power supply is working for that, at K1.

on the same website,  you had  the lc102,  and if i recaLl  there was some  psu voltage generator check list

the lc102 had history of some bad relay in them, the big one  and sometimes one of the small one(s), the lc103 may suffer the same fate ??

be sure the open and close calibration  pass all the way ....

they need good wires with specific resistance AND capacitance  rg63  i think     unless you have the original one ...

I appreciate the link!
Now to do some logical thinking.
