Rigol ds1052e boot screen ok then only flickering white lines displayed

Hey,
I've got a Rigol ds1052e that's broken. I don't use it often and when I tried switching it on today the "boot screen" was fine showed the model number and stuff but after boot up the only thing that got displayed were a bunch of flickering white lines.
There are some reverse engineered schematics available but I am unsure where to even start looking for the fault.
From what I've read here on the forum most people seem to just re flow the cyclone branded chip, which appears to be the main processing unit.
