a decent 9 volt battery connector?
« on: December 16, 2023, 05:22:18 pm »

I'm looking for a recommendation. I'm repairing a piece of TE that has a broken 9 volt battery connector.  Does anyone know of a decently constructed 9 volt battery connector (with wire leads) that is readily available?  Preferably somewhere like Amazon or Ebay so I don't have to deal with an absurd shipping charge and/or minimum purchase. I can get 10 for about $8 on Amazon which is not unreasonable but I'm dubious of the durability.  Can anyone recommend a particular seller or brand?

Do you need the lead to come from the middle or the side of the connector?
Hehe, spooked my friends with an exploding electrolytic capacitor the other day 😁.

Disassemble an old 9V battery and make your own

You didn't specify a country, so I don't know how hard it is to get these.
I have always used Keystone connectors for 9 V batteries:

I don't think that it matters. The battery space is pretty large.

That is what I do.  I have a parts drawer full of 9 volt battery end caps, but I throw away the plastic ones because soldering melts the plastic.

Thanks for the suggestion of the Keystone parts, they look like what I was looking for.  Digikey, Mouser, Allied and all of the other large parts houses carry them and they're available in Europe and in North and South America so I should be GTG.  I placed an order this morning and I should have the parts soon.
