Rohde Schwarz FSP IF Board Failure
« on: November 24, 2024, 10:22:05 pm »
I am working on a new-to-me Rohde Schwarz FSP spectrum analyzer that has a failure on the IF board.

The self test display is below.

Anyone have experience with this model? I have the service manual, but no schematics, and the block diagram is of little help.

It appears that the measurement circuitry on the IF board isn't working, or perhaps a logic problem.
The main PSU is fine.

Don't have experience with this unit, but it sure looks like the ADC, its reference, or its Mux is dead.  You should probably run a test to see if the board itself is operational, and if it's capable of running at least some of its functions, it is probably a self check measurement failure.

Hi!

I put 2.2k resistor between REFADJ (Pin12) and Gnd.
Self-test results are now similar.
Check the capacitor on pin12 first.
As far as I remember, there are several MEGs between pin12 and Gnd.
