I have listed the procedure i had followed.
Note the belated instruction to "...read this page first..."
I cant comment on Your sig genny.
I would imagine being in the same vein as mine the firmware structure ought to be similar.
In any case do check the the screen for auto cal before changing the battery so that You are at least familiar with the user interface.

On issue of upgrading firmware....
Is there a compelling reason to upgrade or is it just going from functioninig version to one whihc may be marginally different?

By breaking the dump, I calculated the passwords for the third and fourth levels.

LEVEL 1 Password: 123456
LEVEL 2 Password: 261339
LEVEL 3 Password: 710845
LEVEL 4 Password: 593748

L3 - 4 passwords great .... I had the first 2 ae a bonus...

I am on the search for the Holy Grail or is it the hens teeth? Any one have a copy of the SML-Z2 software or know where I can procure a copy?

I found the SMP passwords at https://groups.io/g/Rohde-and-Schwarz , maybe they are the same.
LEVEL1: 123456
LEVEL2: 520805
LEVEL3 490727

Also unlocking thru GPIB, according to what I've found unlocks all levels.

Hello to everyone!
I have the SML01 that does not respond to keyboard but responds to the rotary knob. The keyboard matrix is working as I see it transmits pulses to PERIF2 chip. I suppose it is a problem with flash firmware.
I see no way to update firmware through RS-232 as there is need to press key "5" before update process but there is no response to keypress.
Does anyone have the flash dumps from SML-01-02-03 or SMV-03?
I would appreciate for help.

Hi!
Programmer TL866A with programming panels tsop-48.
There were no programming problems.

I just do not remember where installed on the board EEPROM X24645P

If the keyboard does not work, I think you need to enter the programming mode through the digital interface on the back of the generator using the control commands described in the service manual.

Great SML topic this is.

I am looking for the SML-Z2 utilty (1090.5203.02) for calibrating my SML generator.
Does anyone have this utility and is willing to share it here?

is there already a sort of "standard walkthrough" path for a not booting units related/refers to display problems?

Hi...

A few days ago I used the sweep function of my SML01 for the first time, from 1Mhz to 1Ghz.
I noticed that between 1Mhz and just over 5Mhz the set 0dBm level is higher, after that it is exactly the same.
Is this a calibration problem or a defect or is it normal?
