I was about to buy a second hand URE 2 RMS Voltmeter and went to pick it up. Seller said that he has an Agilent 33220A we can use to test the meter so I took only my Burster DC source with me.
With the function generator everything looked nice and I was ready to shake hand (not literally in these days) but wanted to check quickly the DC range. And good I did as it didn’t work, only some digits at lowest range. I checked all settings, changed range up and down and initialised the URE but anything didn’t help. It passes self test at power on and don’t have any alarms.
Maybe there is some relay for bypass input capacitor and it is not working or has bad contact? If fault is relative easy to find and fix I might buy it at some lower price but it is not worth to take it to R&S for repair.
I wonder if someone here has URE 2 schematic or better yet service manual? URE 3 will do also, should be quite similar.
