HP8753E repair
« on: January 21, 2025, 01:22:53 pm »
Hi everybody,

I rescued an 8753E a while ago, but I have no clue what happened to it. All I know is that there's a lot of oxidation and traces of salt !!
The only bit of info I could get is that this particular 8753E was situated in Casablanca, Morocco, and it was brought back to France in the 2010s.

I disassembled the whole analyzer. I am stuck at the moment on the PSU; I wasn't able to find a service manual with the pinout of the power supply. It appears clean, but I believe I am missing something when trying to test it.
For the time being, I can't reassemble the analyzer.

I will post pictures for the curious later.

If there is a fan, maybe it made the machine sucking sea winds.
Still, don't taste the stuff.

Can you find any popped capacitors?
