I don't have a direct procedure for you, but I did have a software update kit from R&S for them at one point and it was a couple of floppy disks and a serial cable. I wouldn't be surprised if winflashpro has instructions for it, and maybe the instrument has to be in a firmware update mode (which could be password protected, but those are floating around the forum), but the basic procedure is probably establish a serial connection and follow whatever directions you can to flash it through that.
Thanks for your reply. I saw somwhere on internet there was a software update kit, also the users manual says something about it, but I think today's is near imposible to find that kit, and maybe if I find one it Will be a Little bit expensive…
I've downloaded the firmware in a ZIP file directly from R&S site, and this zip file only contains 3 files: History.txt, Winflashpro.exe and the firmware file with "rspkg" extensión file (Size about 1.9MB). No instructions on how to do that job is included in the zip file or inside the "History.txt" file...
As you said, maybe I need to establish a serial connection, thats no problem, it's easy, but I'm lost on what I have to do after that… I have no idea on how to put the SG in "firmware mode", and then how can I upload the file to the SG and then execute the upgrade.
I don't have the need to upgrade the firmware because I don't see any error or issues that makes me think I have to upgrade it. I want to do that only to be with the last versión, that solved too many issues in the past...and if in the future I see something wrong I'll be sure it's my mistake, not a SG malfunction.
I appreciate to much your effort to help me, thanks.
