RT809H
« on: June 21, 2019, 02:12:56 pm »
Hello everyone! I am lost in the use of an RT809H programmer to read, erase, and send a program to the management board of a SONY KDL32S5600 TV that has been reprogrammed, (without desoldering the nand) from the small VGA cord . The programmer output is well connected to VGA ISP in the direction of the electronic board. When I start AUTO ISP, an error message appears (see photos). I have reverified dozens of times my connection, without understanding anything! Can someone help me? Thank you for your valuable help

Normally  by the vga cord you reprogram the tv / monitor /  etc...   by i2c connection the specs of the appliance, frequency and display resolutions ... not the tv firmware ? But i can be wrong  if i see theses videos.

If the auto isp doesn't identify something,  surely something is wrong.

Do you have the latest software and drivers installed ?  And  seeing all the warning messages,  does everthing is corrected or in compliance with the software needs ...
Tv powered on,  short cables lenght  etc ...

Who reprogrammed the tv earlier, was it you ?  are the programming cable(s) hand made ?

Page 21 of the service manual suggests that the VGA pins are used to program an M24C02 EEPROM (IC4500) with EDID data. In the past I have made my own cable to do this (for a different monitor).

https://elektrotanya.com/showresult?what=KDL32S5600&kategoria=&kat2=all

"Software upgrade" is an option in the service menu, but that appears to target the NAND flash.

Hello; as mentioned above, I try to program the tv, because a bad update to planted the software. I have the different files to be able to inject in the nandla complete programming. This programmer has the big advantage of being able to read, erase, program the memory without having to unsolder it. But, the, I used all the cables provided originally with the programmer, including with the vga / hdmi cable (like that of the video); the vga cord as the other connectors give the same error message and the programmer can not recognize the management card to read the content of the nand. I am therefore waiting for outside help ... :palm:

On page 21

Hdmi ports and vga port, you see clearly an 8 pins eeprom chip near the plugs,  i still think its the edid  like FZABKAR said (google search edid), simply put the edid defines tv resolutions / frequencies / screen size ...

I dont think its the main board nand you can reprogram via the vga or hdmi ports

The nand is ic4701 on page 26

On page 27 you have at least two programming ports, cn4103 and cn4101 and a eeprom ic4102.

I dont think you will be easily able to recover your tv, or something went wrong in the power supply,  as usual  check all voltages lines, and the power led  if you see some errors codes blinks, you have a section for that in the service manual.

Or maybe try a new search in tv's forums  to flash recover your tv ??

And as a last resort,  find a new mainboard ?

EDIT
Im native french   (On one french site, 2015 threads) they say  you have to upload a new firmware thru the rs232 port, to talk to the mips controller and do that in xmodem mode,  it seems you need some special tool to do that.

And i did found out this link (not in english)
http://download.portalmrelectronico.com/centro_privado/user_uploads/egranadaade1/comoreprogramarlamemoriaflashdelostvsonyconchasisex2ncuandoeltvestbloqueado.pdf

Oh  RE-EDIT
Sony EX-2N chassis flash problem, Sony bulletin 12TV026.

Sony Bravia LCD TV with chassis EX-2N. This is the model list:

KDL-37S5500
KDL-40S5500
KDL-37P5500
KDL-40P5500
KDL-32S5600
KDL-37S5600
KDL-40S5600
KDL-32P5600
KDL-37P5600
KDL-40P5600
KDL-32P3600
KDL-37P3600
KDL-40P3600

The symptom is : plug the TV, it goes to green LED, nothing happens on screen, and after about 30-35 seconds, a relay double-clicks and the cycle starts again, forever.

This problem occurrence peaked on 2012, and it was supposed to happen due to firmware bug triggered by a specific DVBt emission.

Good news are that if your TV is one of listed above and it shows described symtom, it has good chances of being repaired without even opening the TV, by just applying steps described in Sony bulletin 12TV026. Bad news are that you’ll need Sony TL3 proprietary jig, which is not available for sale. Then, there’s no other choice than replace NAND Flash with one properly programmed for required model (IC4701).

Since the jig is unobtanium ... you need the firmware, desolder the nand chip, reprogramm it, an do prayers :(

Only place  i've found the jig for sale :  https://www.pieces-electro.com/Prix/TL-WAX2-JIG-INTERFACE-TL-WAX2-70676.html

333 euro 90 ??

And you still need an pcb adapter between the two. ??

The simpliest thing would be to bring your tv to a Sony service center to have a diagnostic,  and or  as i wrote, a new main pcb board ??

good luck

Hallo Yoyo,

Still trying?
I doubt the Sony jig is anything fantastic. Most likely USB to RS232.
It looks like someone on evil bay España is selling programmed flash that fits your case.
