Hirose FX2BA ribbon connectors
« on: October 10, 2018, 08:16:25 pm »
I am attempting to repair an Agilent E4400 series Spectrum Analyser. To repair the main board I need to extend it out of the chassis  onto the bench.
To do this I need to make some ribbon cable Extenders using Hirose FX2BA M/F 68 pin connectors as well as 2 each of FX2BA M/F 100 pin connectors.
The 68 pin connectors were used by some SCSI cables in days gone by in equipment like HP server Chassis's.Owe and some of 100 wire ribbon cable

Now does anyone in Melbourne have any I can borrow or buy?
Is there an equivalent from another manufacturer?
Any other brilliant and insightful advice?

regards sarason

I know most of the Dell 2800 series and earlier servers used the 68 pin cables internally but they will probably be M/M, but if you can use one of these instead of the installed cable plus extender it may be a solution and I would expect you could pick one up fairly cheaply on the used market.

However the 100 pin is more of a problem.
