Hey guys, I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 which has a problem I have never seen before. I get decent cell signal with it and I can send text messages without issue. The problem arises whenever I try to use my data connection. If I try to load up a website, it will try to load for a moment, then my service will go away and display a cross sign over my signal strength. After a little wait my signal will return and it will continue to work until I try to use data again.
I am on a Koodo contract and the sim card works without issue in my Galaxy S4 so it is definitely an issue with the S2.
I found this website which shows replacing the power amplifier IC or the RFMD IC to resolve a few issues that are also listed on the website.
http://blog.brokenlcds.com/samsung-galaxy-s2-network-problem/ I have a dropping signal issue which they say to replace the RFMC IC in order to fix. In my mind I would think that the power amplifier IC was at fault due to the fact that using data uses more power which my push the old worn out chip past its limits? This is of course pure speculation on my part and I have no experience with cell signal circuits.
Just wondering if anyone thinks that either of those chips could possibly be causing my issue? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
