Hello everybody,
I have the above-mentioned TV with the following symptoms: the screen is covered in vertical lines, it seems once every 8 or so column of pixels is a colored bar. Otherwise the TV seems to work, there is sound and the image and menus are accessible, also if there is an input the picture shows correctly in-between the colored lines.
After doing a bit of research, it seemed the most probable culprit was a bad T-CON board, so I ordered a "new" one. The seller sent me 2 boards, I guess because they are supposedly tested good but since those are obviously recovered, maybe he likes to edge his bets. Anyway, with one of the T-CON boards, I get a different display: now most of the screen is covered with white lines. Obviously I conclude this T-CON is bad too but at least it shows me that the LCD panel itself must be good right ? since different lines are lit-up, it can't be like say the last pin of one of the connectors that is bad or something since this now exercises different columns.
Now, with the other T-CON... same as the original defect, colored vertical lines. Seller of the T-CON assures me his boards are good, they were tested. Figuring they might both be bad, I order a 3rd T-CON (hey those are so cheap anyway, might as well try my luck, and I got the TV for free anyway)
Third T-CON does the vertical colored lines too. So I think well this might be an issue with the rest of the TV after all, not the T-CON...
What do you guys think, what should I be looking at ? I am experienced with creating digital electronics, but not fixing TVs :-) I do have access to logical analyzer, oscilloscope, multimeter, component tester, signal generator and lab powersupply, so if someone can point me in the right direction what to look for it would be great help !
Cheers all and thanks
