Samsung Monitor Repair
« on: January 17, 2024, 02:59:33 am »
Hi All,

I have a faulty Samsung U28E590D computer monitor. The problem is that the monitor has an area of the screen that's showing blue rather than black. Also, in the same screen area, the white is slightly yellow. I've attached a few images that show the problem.

I tried contacting a monitor repair place but they said that the repair would most likely require a new panel and so wasn't worth it. Before I send the monitor off to its final e-waste resting place I thought I'd see if it was worth repairing. The reason I'm interested in giving it a go is because a while back I repaired an LG LCD TV and the repair was very simple (T-Con board replacement). I was thinking that it could be something similar in this case.

Any thoughts? Is this a fool's errand?

Cheers,

Chris

In the end I replaced the monitor. I had a feeling that it was probably something relatively simple that was the problem.

Cheers!
