Samsung monitor U28E590D high pitched noise
« on: August 17, 2019, 12:14:11 pm »
Hi

I'm trying to get rid of a high pitched noise coming from the motherboard of my Samsung U28E590D computer monitor.

The noise is there regardless of whether I have plugged in any video inputs or not (although with an input plugged in the noise does change character)

Its hard to pinpoint which component is making the noise, and I would like your help to identify the components on the bord and maybe even point me in the right direction of the most probable offender.

I'll attach a picture of the area of the board where the noise is coming from.

It's almost certainly one of those big inductors.
You can roll up a piece of paper and use it as a stethoscope.
