The service and repair guide already exists on some
paid per view sites..  any hand appreciated on this

Yes right  on the spot..   the test points with voltages are there..

The piece attached failed the first OHM probing check
on the power board..  it is dead shorted.

I am having a hard time identifying the label because
the board is coated with a strong varnish that clouds the
codes..

It looks like a Schottky like

but the SMD marking as usual is not related with ONSEMI internal
datasheet reference codes.. (like MBRS340T3G)

If anyone has a clue about what is this piece code
drop a handy help...

That circuit does help a lot. Although some light different
things they almost match.

That diode is technically shorted by those resistors
with less than 3 ohm to ground. That is why deceives
any instrument while blinding ohm probing.

Assuming that is just a clamper and will probe all board again
using that schema as support..
