Title: Samsung un55ks8000f vertical stripes
Post by: PINKBOY1006 on November 28, 2017, 03:40:11 am
So pretty much got this tv for free and the TV has vertical lines when it powers up. We have already replaced the main board (There's only 2 boards in the tv! :scared:) and practically no change. The power supply voltages (to my knowledge) are fine, 12.8 volts for all main power rails. And I have pressed on the top connecting flex, re-seated all of the connectors and I'm just at a loss. Here is a picture of the problem (https://i.imgur.com/CFxOY6c.jpg)

Most likely problem in the flex cable where it is soldered/glued to the panel. Usually it is beverage damage.
So basically you have got main board and psu for almost free.

I think there is a T-con board hidden behind the black heat shield/covering in the Top middle section.
Could be T-con lvds or rvds problems though likely are the flexs, TCP problems.
its a reasonably good large TV, I would try to the very end.
So if it is convenient, swop a T-con.
I would probe the T-con, but it is too difficult and lengthy to explain here.
the simplest is to swop T-con board, press in all connection etc...

Only single color vertical stripes, maybe still a ray of hope there.
Can beverage damage be whole TV length long? ehm... maybe?
See the joy of someone's repair;  :-DD
