SAMSUNG WE 1048
« on: November 06, 2018, 04:38:21 pm »
Good evening everyone! I have an external hard drive whose hard drive was dead. I replaced it by the same one as the original, but it is not recognized on the tv and the computer. What should I do for it to be recognized? Does it have to be formatted with software? I work under windows 10 64 bits. Thank you for you precious help!

looking at amazon it doesnt look like hdd, more like a media player so yes, most likely you need the software that was on the disk

Sometimes they are not formated to be windows compatible, some tv boxes, Videotron hd recoreders, Bell hd recorders  are specially formatted, sometimes they are linux look a like partitions

If you dont know how the old hdd was partitioned, or the kind of formating , you may be out of luck
