Samsung YP-U2 MP3 player, an impossible mission?

I have this MP3 player by samsung, model YP-U2 and I need to replace the cracked LCD display (res: 128*64, 3V). This is a desperate task, because i didn't found a spare and the only one available from ebay is too expensive and i don't want to order from ebay because of paypal. Lukily i have the service manual of this thing so you can see the pinout of the LCD connector that goes on the microcontroller (Sigmatel STMP3550B). As said the problem is that i cannot find a direct sapre, however if you go to aliexpress you can find generic 128*64 display "arduino compatible" like this:

BUT those LCD have all different number of pins and the one of the MP3 player do have 17pins. The question is: would be possible to adapt one of those generic LCD to my MP3 player? I think the price is only for the backlight and does not include the LCD.

No. At least not the one from your link.
The display needs to use the same interface mode (mp3 player: 6800 mode, display from your link: SPI) and it needs to support the same command set, otherwise it won't work.
According to the service manual the original display is TM12864F G-1,YP-U2, but I can not find any information. There seem to be many different TM12864F versions.

Uh, ok. So the one on the samsung has a parallel bus. I've found this:

Controller must be different. Why don't you post a picture of the actual LCD? You have not even said if there is any part number on the LCD, and nothing about interface except 17 pins, no type of connector / flex, nothing.

Because i've broken it and now is in the bin  . Is it possible to know the controller from the service manual of the device? Why do you say that the controller MUST be different? And BTW the lcd didn't have any controller onboard, maybe a chip on glass. The number on the flex cable is:

And nothing(except it's shape) important visible on the picture. Who in sane mind throws out old parts before even finding a suitable a replacement.

From the information you have at the moment your only option is to get an original replacement display, because the display looks like a custom one, made specifically for this mp3 player.

The display has nothing written on it. The only number is on the flat cable that i gave you. The flat has two connectors: The first goes directly on the screen itself and has 35pins and is melted on the glass of the screen. The second has 17pins and goes on the connector of the MP3 player. That's all.

Solved! I smashed the damn thing into 1000 pieces and throwed away. FUCK YOU SAMSUNG and your custom parts. I now ordered a sony, which i know will be an equally pain in the ass in case of repair. Always hated custom parts.

Pty, I have one with a perfect display, just worn out flash and pouch cell.............

I like it for the Ogg support, and the decent audio driving ability, just the battery life is now kind of short.

Everybody uses custom parts.
Damn near nobody makes consumer electrics serviceable.
Those that don't know (eg. The O/P) what they don't know, don't know that they don't know what they don't know.

Player is smaller, lasts longer on a charge, fits in a small pocket. What more do you want.
