Search: Rotary encoder knobs used in Keysight InviniiVision Scopes ...

Hi guys,

for repair I'm searching the OEM brand/type of that 24 pulses/360° rotary encoder with pushbutton switch, what's used as e.g. trigger knob, channel offset knob, ...

The encoder shaft diameter is 6mm, length of the visible part of that black plastik shaft is 9mm (7mm flattened for the knob), no detent.

One more detail:
The shaft has a "groove" on the top end and sidewards on the flatten side. Almost every encoder of that kind out there has no groove on the flattened side. Seems like Keysight is using a special manufacturer ... could not find exactly that looking encoder somewhere.

Any ideas?

Yes, the ALPS encoders of that kind look very similar.
But when looking into the data sheets of ALPS EC12 series encoders I can't find one with the groove on the flatten insulated plastic shaft.

Does the knob have a matching "bump" to fit in the slot?

Yes, the ALPS encoders of that kind look very similar.

Maybe Bourns fits better?

If the missing slit is the only problem, why not slit it using a hacksaw?

But I'm searching for the exactly OEM one (won't risk that something doesn't work well / quality reasons)

I once dismantled and teardown a HP encoder. There are active chips with wire bonding inside much more complex than simple IR or mechanical encoder.

I ended up fixing a priced encoder to a priced instrument without spending time to decipher the encodes.
