Pot match?
« on: August 21, 2018, 03:19:41 pm »
hello

I need to replace a few pots on a Roland td-12 module circuit board,
but i can not open the unit yet until i know it is a likely possibility that i may find a part that may work.

I attach an image of the pots that need to be replaced, which I found online,
also a picture of a pot (Alps RK12L12) that might fit . and a bourns PTV112-4420A. they are the only ones that look similar.

I wonder does anyone know if this type of pot is a standard part, where the footprint is always the same?

thanks for any help you may offer.

I would say it's a Panasonic EVJ-Y dual potentiometer 12mm. Pic matches. Roland sticks with fellow Japanese manufacturers.

They are quite popular, but Digikey shows them as obsolete (EVJ-Y, EVJ-C) with some stock still, Mouser has them too.

You just have to find the taper (linear or logarithmic) and ohms value, and if there is a center-detent or not. Some are metal bushing, or plastic with sleeve, or no sleeve.

Wow, thanks so much. i didn’t see these ones  :-+

that is great, i shall try those out.

thank you so much : )

Edit digikey = Bourns PTV112-4420A-B103-ND  worked fine.

not as liquid smooth to the turn/feel as a panasonic , but the footprint and pins are pretty much identical also linear 10k.
