Hello!

I see the message SELF TEST FAILED during boot up the device. But device powers on and shows something.

Does this failure of test mean device is broken somehow? Is it critical problem?

Thanks!

Any ideas are highly appreciated
metrologist:
Go into system menu and run the self test. It will report test results and what failed. The system self test is just that. The application self tests apply to currently set measurement application (CAA, SPA, etc.)

Boot-up Self Test fails:
1. Perform a Master Reset.
If the message relates to the RTC battery, replace the RTC battery on the Main PCB.
2. The Main PCB has failed. Replace the Main PCB/Spectrum Analyzer assembly

Perform a Master Reset:
1. Turn the instrument on.
2. Press the Shift button then the System ( 8 ) button.
3. Press the System Options submenu key.
4. Press the Reset key, then the Master Reset key.
5. A dialog box will be displayed on the screen warning that all settings will be returned to
factory default values and all user files will be deleted. This deletion is a standard file
delete and does not involve overwriting exiting information.
6. Press the Enter button to complete the master reset.
7. The instrument will reboot and the reset is complete.

Thanks for reply!

Just got some details from Self test logo.

Is it really battery should be replaced?
metrologist:
That's what it looks like - the small coin cell battery on main PCB.
