Sencore LC101 Schematic needed
« on: June 14, 2015, 03:10:15 pm »
All,
This is a duplicate post from the one I posted over in the test equipment section. Figured everyone did not vist every section, so I'm posting again here in repair.

I just pulled my Sencore LC101 down from the shelf to use today. I haven't needed to use it in a couple of years. Anyway, its dead!. I get a momentary display upon turning it on, then nothing. No display, no LEDs, nothing. I checked the fuse and it was good. Just a beginning guess, but its probably the power supply. Anyway, I need a schematic or better yet a service manual for it. Can anyone help me out, or no where I can find a copy of the schematic?

Thanks
Mitch

Mine had a display that would flicker and go out - it was a fixed voltage regulator. Don't remember which one - but it had a tall tab on it. Freeze mist helped to identify. Had to use an NTE part - it was a fairly unusual package.

Mzacharias,
Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, my lc101 is completely dead with only a momentary flash of the display when turning on and off. At this point I don't have any idea where to start. Maybe this weekend, I'll open it up and do a little probing

I'd check your supplies, I'm guessing one of the filter caps when out and you have too much ripple.

Common failures I use to see are:  IC32, IC33 and TR8.  All are located on the top board.
