Sencore LC102 "Short"
« on: March 28, 2024, 03:32:47 pm »
I apparently posted this is the wrong forum (test equipment).  Sorry, newbie mistake.

I have an LC102 that I purchased new many many moons ago.  I think I had it calibrated once by Sencore but other than that one time, it's been working fine.  All of a sudden the display reads "Short" when testing a capacitor or zeroing "Open".  I found L1 stuck, replaced it but that made no difference.  Additionally I found the 2N6557 shorted.  I replaced it with a NTE 171, but that also made no difference.  I read 51 Ohms at the BNC so it's not an input short.  I've seen others with this same issue, just wondering if anyone has found a solution.

Thanks,
Scott

Locate a schematic and post, then we might be able to assist in helping locate the problem. Also images of the inside and PCB will help.
